Post-doctoral researcher (Linguistics)

The position is part of the Research Group “General Linguistics” at Bielefeld
University, which concentrates on comparative research combining theoretical
linguistics with empirical methods. We offer a productive research and
teaching environment, the opportunity of further qualification, as well as a
stimulating environment for collaboration both within linguistics and across
disciplines. Your tasks include in particular:

- linguistic research with a focus in theoretical and empirical research in
morphology, syntax or semantics and/or the interfaces to prosody and
pragmatics. Candidates should work on at least one non-indo-Europeanlanguage.
We expect candidates to take part in collaborative research on dialogue at
Bielefeld University. (65 %)

- teaching of two courses per semester (4LVS) within the Linguistics Program
(BA, MA) and other study programs that include linguistic modules, including
the supervision of students, empirical Bachelor and Master theses and
examinations (25 %)

- participation in general administration and administration of Linguistic
Programs (10 %)

This is a temporary position. As stipulated in §2 (1) sentence 2 of the
WissZeitVG (fixed-term employment), the contract will end after three years
with the possibility of an extension to a maximum of six years. In accordance
with the provisions of the WissZeitVG and the Agreement on Satisfactory
Conditions of Employment, the length of contract may differ in individual
cases.
