Meeting Description:

The Doctoral Webinar is organized by the Multilingual Childhoods / REYLL
research network Committee, Responsible: Dr. Ana Andúgar Soto, Senior Lecturer
and researcher at the Catholic University of Murcia (Spain), 
aandugar at ucam.edu

 Aim: The Doctoral Webinar will provide PhD candidates working in areas of
early language learning and teaching with a unique opportunity to interact
with renowned and experienced researchers in the field and discuss with them
about their research data.

 Eligibility: Prospective PhD candidates should already have collected at
least some of their research data and possibly have published some results.


Call for Papers: 

Each doctoral student who wants to submit a paper for the Doctoral Webinar
should prepare:

Abstract: An abstract summarizing his or her dissertation research. Abstracts
must not exceed 500 words (exclusive of references). The abstract should
include:
 - motivation, problem description
 - main theoretical concepts, novelty and significance relative to the state
of the art
 - methodology
 - results obtained
 - one theoretical or methodological issue for discussion during the webinar
that has been identified during data collection and analysis

Recommendation Letter: A letter of recommendation from the student’s Ph.D.
advisor, verifying: 
         - the student status of the applicant
         - date of advance to PhD candidacy
         - the expected date of thesis defence or graduation

The abstract must be written in English, and submitted to Dr. Ana Andúgar Soto
via email at aandugar at ucam.edu

Review Process: 
The review process will be conducted by the Multilingual Childhoods network
Committee. Those doctoral candidates whose abstracts are accepted, will be
asked their presentations in advance for the Committee members’ review. More
information and guidelines will be given to the selected presenters.

Important Dates for the Doctoral Webinar: 
 - Event Date : 3.5CET-6 CET Tuesday, December 15, 2020
 - Submission Due Date: October 31, 2020
 - Notification: November 15, 2020

Detailed programme: 
Each participant will get 15 minutes to present their project, after which
there will be a 15-minute discussion. Overall, there will be five
presentations.

The project presentations would normally include research questions and
obtained data, as well as brief account of the theoretical and methodological
approach.
