Description:

One Post-doctoral Research Fellowship in Cognitive Linguistics is available in
the Department of Language and Culture at UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
The position is affiliated with the CLEAR research group (Cognitive
Linguistics: Empirical Approaches to Russian

The position is a fixed term position for a duration of 3 years. Appointment
to the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow is mainly intended to provide
qualification for work in top academic positions. It is a prerequisite that
the applicant is able to carry out the project over the full course of the
employment period. No person may hold more than one fixed-term position as a
Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the same institution.

The position can/will additionally be assigned to teaching and related work
for UiT in an amount equivalent to 25 % of a full-time employment. 

The appointed Postdoctoral Fellow must have its daily workplace at UiT - The
Arctic University of Norway, Tromsø.

The position will research and publish on topics related to cognitive
linguistics, preferably connected to the research profile of the CLEAR group.
For example, the research may include the following aspects:
- Construction grammar (see the Russian Constructicon:
https://constructicon.github.io/russian/)
- Inflectional morphology (see the SMARTool:
https://smartool.github.io/smartool-rus-eng/)
- Pedagogical applications related to cognitive linguistics
- Quantitative analysis of language data

Applicants for the advertised Post-doctoral position should propose a research
project that will contribute to the ongoing research of the CLEAR group. The
project proposal should be 5-10 pages.

The postdoctoral fellow will devote 25% of the position to teaching and/or
development and implementation of research-based electronic pedagogical tools
for language learning.
