Description:

We are looking to appoint two Lecturers in ESL and Applied Linguistics
(Assistant professor, continuing). The two Lecturers will contribute to
research and teaching excellence in ESL and Applied Linguistics including the
coordination of subjects, preparation and conduct of lectures and tutorials
and related assessment, and consultations with students. The Program maintains
an ESL Program at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, a Master of Applied
Linguistics, and an undergraduate major in Linguistics and Applied
Linguistics, including subjects such as Second Language Learning and Teaching.

About you:
You will be a committed and engaging teacher with expertise in English as a
Second Language and Applied Linguistics teaching and research and who is
experienced in supervising Honours, graduate coursework and research students.
You have the ability to develop research projects and seek funding for these,
to undertake research resulting in publications with leading publishers in the
field, and to foster engagement links with external networks/partners
nationally and internationally.

You will also have:
 - A completed PhD in Applied Linguistics or Linguistics or a closely related
field.
 - Capacity to attract research grants and consultancies
 - Demonstrated ability for excellence in teaching at both graduate and
undergraduate level and an excellent research record with a developing
publication profile
 - Experience in developing new subjects in academic English and applied
linguistics is desirable.
