Weel, A hiv! In fact A says gey the same as you'v juist says sae ye could a
saved yersel the bather o writin!

A think the trouble wi this is claer eneuch - dae the "ss" spellin
conseestent and yer Scots gits hard tae read for fowk that's uized wi
English and tradeetional modren Scots spellins, i.e. vernear aa Scots
spaekers: houss, blouss, mouss, houssie, moussie, crouss, hauss, abuiss &c.
A think masel, tho, ye can dae fine gaun the ither road an spellin wi "z"'s
("ze" at the end o a word) whare the soond's vyced an no plural or genitive:
mowze, abuize, uize. Thae kin o words is rarer, A think. This is hou ye'll
see me writin "uise" but "uize" &c.

As for haein a phonemic spellin seestem for Scots, A'v haen a guid shot at
it an ae thing A ken is that nae maiter hou weel ye dae it, naebody's gaun
tae read it! Until Scots is teached on at laest a par wi English in the
schuils (never?) A dout it's no even worth thinkin aboot a phonemic spellin
seestem (or onything onywhare near ane), cause it's juist fowk that's learnt
it fae they wis bairns is ever gaun tae can thole it.
