I've put up a table of IPA and Sampa phonetic symols which may be of use
to
people wishing to describe Scots pronunciation.
It also includes the unicode character codes and the keyboard codes for
SIL
IPA fonts along with useful links to websites giving more information
about
the symbols etc. It can be found at
http://www.scots-online.org/airticles/phonetics.htm
Any suggestions concerning a more sensible way of ordering the symbols
or
any symbols which ought to be there is always welcome.

A probably naive question:

I can't see the parenthesized Unicode characters, even when I switch the
encoding mode in the view menu to Unicode (UTF 8).

Anyway, can you (or someone else) explain a bit more about Unicode and
its uses?
