Hello Klaus-Werner !
If I read the name You asked about in Dutch manner it sounds _le:G at dø:r_ or
as I would write it in LS _Lēğedöör_ which can be translated as "low door"
(G) "niedrige Tür". Of course this isn't a profession but often also a kind
of nickname that charcterizes a person later became the family name of his
descendants.
