Ik ben me niet bewust van een negatieve connotatie in het
woord 'opdoffen'.  Ik zou het vertalen met: 'dress up',
'spruce up'.  Misschien is er is een zekere bijbetekenis
van twijfelachtige smaak, of van iets mooi laten lijken
wat het eigenlijk niet is, maar dat is alles.
