I tried sending an e-mail direct to Elsie Zinsser, but it was returned by my
system twice.  Here's what I sent to her:

Hi:
I'm writing to you individually, because I asked my question to the entire
list about a month ago, but I didn't get an answer.  I can with not too much
difficulty read Dutch.  It's sort of self-taught from a book I bought when I
was there some 30 years ago.  Lately, I've been reading a lot of Dutch on
the lowlands list, and I've been checking out Dutch newspapers' websites.
That led me to an interest in Afrikaans.  I would like to ask you what
correspondences there are between Afrikaans and Dutch with respect to
orthography.  For example, it appears that ij in Dutch > y in Afrikaans.  It
also appears that z in Dutch > s in Afrikaans.  Are there some others?
