Subject: Scots Gaelic resources

My niece,13 years,who livesin Alabama, USA, wants to learn Scots Caelic,
oral, not print(although, and of course, and all things considerd). As I
recall past postings, there are resources available, but of course, I didn't
need them, so... pardon the repeat request.  If anyone happens to know
someone near Birmingham, Alabama who is interested in tutoring a Gaelic
student, that would be a bonus.

Bill Wigham asked about, among others, grammar books for so-called
"minority" LL languages.
I find the LS grammar published by INS a good one, last not least because it
is the only serious grammar of modern LS that I know of. I´ll dig out the
ref. if there is any interest. Not sure if this message will get by Ron. He
cannot but know this book but has never mentioned it, so he might disagree
with my appraisal.

What do you mean by "get by" me?  In the sense of "passing through"?  I look
all all posting submissions.  In the sense of "allowing to pass"?  I do not
see why I should not.

Indeed, I know the book and own a copy.  I agree that it is decent.  I have
in fact mentioned it a number of times, as have others.  You would find this
if you searched for "Niederdeutsche Grammatik" in our archives.  Please see
below.

Furthermore, the grammar is listed in our LS bibliography under "Offline
Resources."

As I understood him, Bill asked about resources members of this list have
published, and I based my response on that.  As far as I can tell, the
writers and editors of the book are not members of Lowlands-L, unless they
have subscribed under assumed names.

organizations, regard this "Low German" as abruptly ending at the
German-Netherlands and German-Belgian borders, and some publications, such

Grammatik_, Leer: Schuster, 1998), endorse this nationally based
isolationist
view.  However, this is not the actual focus of this posting, just a
