Well Ron, i looked it up and we have a few other words for "kopwulge":
V: kopwulge / knotwilge / tronkwulge / tronkwilge / bollaard / bolhoofd
/ bovenling.
The branches on top are called "haar" or "vlies"
  V: een krop = E: a 'bowl' of leaves , like a  salad or  a cabbage
