Language politics
Dear Waki-san & minasan,
      My vote is with you regarding Esperanto or even volapuek.  There has
to be an emotional tie between the individual and the language or it just
doesn't mean a thing.  I love the sound of German because it recalls Oma
Knaak and her warmth.  It also brings to mind the powerful singing of
Christmas carols in German at church.  It is part of me and no phoney
plastic language could ever mean nearly as much.  I also have strong ties to
Japanese
which occupies a special place.   I'm sure that the well meaning genius who
thought up Esperanto thought he, or they, was/ were doing a good thing but
he missed the boat entirely.
