'A(b)nemet(e)' relates to 'abnehmen', in the same way that  for example
'Gebäude' relates to 'bauen', or 'Bürgerschaft' denotes a collection of
'Bürger'. Apparently this word was recently in use for 'cream', north of
Rottweil in the 'Black Forest' (Baden-Württemberg), but I certainly
wouldn't call it Standard German.
