Hello,

Yes, modesty may serve us.

I remember that I pointed out -a couple of years ago-
that a danish scholar had taken a close look to all 28
research-investigations that 28 danish scholars had
made of a specific danish dialect.

His conclusion: each of these 28 investigations tells
us more about the mother-dialect of the investigating
linguist than about the investigated dialect.

Our ears are good. But the ears of linguists have
prejudices.

My yankee ears can surely hear the glo'al stops. Is that something that the
other High German dialects exhibit? Haha! I can still make a Lowlands link.
Do the Missingsch (or however you spell that) have that too?
