Re "Nuver" Hello Ondrys, I knew "nuver" in its meaning of 'bevallig,
aandoenlijk, lief, aardig', but had never heard of it in its sense of '
zonderling, raar, niet wel aan't hoofd' (van Dale}. The Americans use a
series of expressions based on the formula: "(number) (thing) short of a
(collective noun)" for example you describe somebody with "a screw loose" as
"He/She is a few cards short of a full deck."
There is an infinite amount of variations possible on this theme. Maybe your
daughter can use that as a matrix for something interesting. Jacqueline
