All I can say is that Flemish has the expression "oesje" ("usche" in
German spelling), when something unexpected happens. In Brabantish, we'd
rather say "oei" (like in French I guess). On the other hand, Dutch also
uses the exclamation "hoezee" ("husee" (G)) for "hurray" (E).

Dag almal,

Marcus, ek het grootgeword met die Afrikaanse uitdrukkings: "Hoppela!" of
"oppela!" wat gewoonlik gebruik is om 'n kind aan te por om te beweeg of
wanneer sy/hy geval het.

Sal moet opsoek wat die herkoms is!
