Oh, hark ye all, dear Lowlands friends of literary mind,
Ye that appreciate in poetry the best of the worst kind!
Our Tom Mc Rae, Auld Reeky's son,
A writer most prolific,
Did it again, son of a gun:
He wrote verse most terrific
As though his mind, usually keen,
Were pushed aside by a force unseen.
'mong suspect souls foremost of all
Ranks William McGonagall.
Well then, my friends, go and admire
Tom's first-rate channeled feats!
I promise you they will inspire:
A bumbling poet's treats.
