Dear Heather,



for an additional answer to your question concerning "vinestall" I've got a
new idea.



I think the origin of "vine-" meanwhile to be cleared, but I'm still engaged
in this old second part, "-stall".



For my humble opinion it could be based on



1. the developement from "staple" >> "stable" >> "stall" or (more favored)
on:

2. LS "*Steel'"* [spoken like "stale"), German "Stelle", meaning "place,
locality".
