Dear Lowlanners,

in all the discussions about the "Noordland-Flag" I'm missing the argument
that this flag, at least for my feeling, shall *not* represent any national
ot tribal identity but is planned as an overarching symbol. I would like to
call it "The Flag of Ingvaeonia", and thus its sobriety, the cross and the
neutral, "unpolitical" colours make sense.

I think that e.g with the suggested swords a very different sense could
arise, and the symbolism of horses already is debased by its use in
uncountable official flags or private heraldry.

Less can be more.

Jonny,

Irrespective of what my own view is in this matter, I need to point out that
I understand this endeavor to aim at the institution of a specifically *Low
Saxon* flag, not one of more general “Ingveonia”, “Lowlands” or such. At
least this is my understanding of the information presented. This might
explain what you are missing the mentioned argument in this thread.

So it seems to me that there is indeed a "national" or “tribal” component:
to aid more general awareness of commonalities which might possibly help
stop or slow down language erosion and death under German and Dutch
domination.
