Subject: Vexillology

Ron skreev:

Yes, there are numerous flags with religious symbolism throughout Eurasia
and Northern Africa, and in many cases the message is intended even
nowadays.

And recognised as such. A cross or any other religious symbol is just not a
good for a flag in my opinion. Where I"m from, we had Saxon speaking muslims
(if all the kids speak Saxon, what do you do...). I'm sure they would take
offence.

About the black vs. white horse theory (which is all that it is really),
here's another: maybe Saxons normally used a white horse during peace time,
and only used a black horse during war time. Since Widukind was some kind of
chosen war leader, it would be logical then that he used the black horse
personally. Then when things settled down in Saxony post-Charlemagne, they
would use the white horse again. Not because it would be a christian symbol,
but just a peace symbol. But like I said, just a little theory.

good gaon,
Henry Pijffers
