Beste Piet en die ganse Lowlands Lys:

Onderwerp: LL-L "Lexicon"

Genoeg met die geloerdery:
 Ron, Almal, is hierdie naamwoord "wadden" nie met die Engelse werkwoord
"wade" verwant nie? Ons het ook die ww "waad" - "deurloop" met die einste
betekenis, soos vir die steitloper - waadvoël. Om in die Engels oor te
skakel, to "wade" is to walk through waters too shallow to swim.
 Hiersuids hoor ons van 'n Friese waagspel gelyk aan Russiese Roulette,
'wadlopen' genoem. In sodanige verdryf trek geesdriftige waansinniges
strandlangs tussen eilande in die getyflaktes van die Waddensee, met die
voorneme hulle sal nie met die stygende getystrome verdrink word nie!

Et risseltaot mag liekwels haost etzelde wezen, letterlik is d'r wel een
klein verschillegien. Een wad (mv.: wadden) is een (altijd) doorwaadbare
plaats.
