And then there’s what in some relevant languages is also called the
equivalent of “rose”: *Herpes zoster*, a.k.a. shingles. I’m one of the
“freaks” that has had it three times so far ... (and in my case, unusually,
the pain sets in before “the rose blooms” ...).
