Subject: LL-L "Etymology"

Beste Hannelore,

Just for your interest, "nen droes" (Dutch spelling), also exists around
here. It's used for big, strong, but slow and somewhat dumb guys. They are
considered "sleepy" but in a figurative sense.

When a person is half awake, half asleep, the verb we use is: "zuilen"
(zoëln) (= schlummern, to slumber).

ZUILEN - WNT (Woordenboek der Nederlandsche
Taal)<http://www.wnt.inl.nl/iWDB/search?actie=article&wdb=WNT&id=M089981&article=suylen>

Kind greetings,

Luc Hellinckx, Halle, Belgium
