velen Dank för Dien Bidraag. Sübbs heff ick dat Woord "Hasenbrot" noch nie
nich hört.

Vunavend heff ick en paar Ollanner Plattsnackers to Beseuk. De warr ick ook
noch maal utquetschen.

Aver ick heff dat bi Grimm funnen:

"hasenbrot, n.
1) eine pflanze, briza media. Nemnich 1, 679; hasenbrod aegilops Frisch 1,
420c; auch juncus campestris, harecht cypergras, himmelbrod, hasenbrod,
hungerbrod Schwenkfeld 96; sitospelton, aegylops, dicitur avena,
hasenörlein, hasenbrot, jungfrawhar. Alberus tt;

herrlich, ohne teller,
schmeckt beim abendroth
heidelbeer und hasenbrot.
Schmidt v. Werneuchen alm. 1798, s. 125.

2) ein wetterauisches kinderwort für brot, das der jäger nicht auf der jagd
verzehrt, sondern in seiner jagdtasche wieder mit nach hause bringt und als
vom hasen herrührend den kindern gibt; vergl. auch Kehrein 187. in etwas
anderm sinne: frisches brod aus neuem korn heiszt hasenbrod und der hase
hat es im wald gebacken. wenn auf den bergen nebel liegt, so ist es der
rauch aus seiner küche: 'der haas kocht'. Grimm kinder- u. hausm. (1812)
anhang s. lviii. vgl. unter hase sp. 527 und brauen 2, 322."

Un dat de Hase brouet, heet dat nich ook vundagigendaags noch op Engelsch
"haze"?

ick heff, as ick noch ´n lütt Bengel weer, ook „Hasenbrot“ eten! Wi hebbt
domols in Stood (Stade) woont, un mien Mudder hett dat fokens seggt. Un nu
kennt us Söhn dato ok!
