I read the language as old danish, spoken in Norway as well as Denmark. "Nu
Bydt en Nerctych werchr so kort V Tyt V looen Dat Sterck."

Ny Bydt = Ny boern= new born
en nerctych= en neder dyk= a plunge (eg a baptism)
wercht=vaad=wet
tyt=tytte= a small bundle
looken= barn=child
sterck=stark= strong

Isn't the bowl with the text a baptism dish or container ? Evidence says
the the translation is "An immersion (baptism) makes the new born child
strong"
