Hallo Henry. Mooi van die landtong. Wordt/werd “Snake” uitgesproken als het
Engelse “snake=(slang)”, met de aa van ”vrolijke snaak”, of met de ee van
op zijn Nederlands uitgesproken Sneek?

DUDEN  7: *Landstrich *verweist auf Strich.
*Strich: * Das *altgerm. *Substantiv *mhd., ahd. *strich, *got.
*striks, *niederl.
*streek,* engl. *streak (beachte auch *schwed. *streck "Strich") gehört
ablautend zu dem unter *streichen *behandelten Verb. Ursprünglich bedeutete
es "gezogene, gestrichene Linie" (besonders beim Zeichnen und Schreiben),
dann auch "Vorgang und Richtung des Streichens (als Erstreckung oder
Fortbewegung). So steht "Strich" für "Landschaft,, Zone" (schon *ahd., *dazu
die Zusammensetzung
*Landstrich,* 17. Jh.)

So as ümmer mit best' Gräuten.
