ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF RUSSIAN
The Language Studies Department of the United States Naval Academy invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Russian language at the assistant professor level to begin  August 2006.  PhD required.  The successful candidate must be strongly committed to teaching at the undergraduate level, and will be expected to teach all levels of Russian including conversation, composition, and literature.  Candidates with specialties in literature, linguistics and pedagogy are encouraged to apply.  Research in an appropriate field and institutional service are expected. The Language Studies department at the Naval Academy offers six other languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese and Spanish, and employs fifteen full-time faculty members. U.S. Naval Academy civilian faculty members are federal government employees.
