ESL certification

Dear Elena,
Your student has 2 options. First, he/she can get a certificte here in
the States through a university, but most certification programs are at
least 1 year. Or s/he could go through a program like International
House, which will provide the student (for a sum) with an intensive
certification course and then help place him/her. However, your
student needs to be careful about which program s/he goes through. I
would highly recommend International House, because they have a
wonderful reputation, and their teachers are generally very good.
Other programs may simply be a rip off (and I could name a couple, if
you're interested).

I hope this helps.
