Dear Paul and all,
Error in prefix? I don't know Grossman enough. For Platonov, or even Dostoevsky or, esp., Gogol, that would be out of the question--they are the masters of Freudian slips. For Grossman, I don't have enough context. But pokvartal'nyj is a very loaded word, esp. when combined with upolnomochennyj. Robert would be the only person to know. Fortunately, the enterprise is in his hands to begin with :)
