I finally got around to checking this out, and it is certainly something
anyone planning to use IPA might want to look at.  I suspect that it might
be a good idea to move the character gif files to a local location and
revise the HTML to point to this local location. Otherwise UVIC's site
might receive quite a pounding if this approach became widespread.

I suppose that froma Siouanist point of view, the characters I miss are
the ones that Siouanists use that come out of the Americanist tradition,
as opposed to the IPA, e.g., things with haceks and ogoneks.
