Dear SLLINGers,

I am in the process of writing course proposals for four
courses in ASL: two one-semester courses at the beginning level
and two at the intermediate level in a state university. I hope
that these wil be accepted as fulfilling our language requirement.

I have never taught such a course (and will not teach these). My
field is linguistics, so I am familiar with the literature on
SL linguistics, but not with materials for teaching the courses.
My proposals have to contain suggested textbooks and other materials,
so I am requesting suggestions. Does anyone have any particular
favorites? I would be interested in both books and other kinds of
material (videotapes, software, etc.)

Thank you in advance for your suggestions. I will post a summary
to the list.
