Dear all

Here is the call for papers for the next Himalayan Languages Symposium, to be held in Paris September 4-6 2023.
More information on our website <https://sites.google.com/view/hls26/home>.

Papers are invited which address any aspect of the languages and linguistics of the Trans-Himalayan area. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, typology, documentation, including field reports and empirically-based ethnographic studies, and language technology/computational linguistics. We also welcome submissions from other fields (such as history, archaeology, ethnobotany, genetics and anthropology) which can relate to the history and development of Himalayan languages. Papers are not limited to the Trans-Himalayan language family, but may treat any language traditionally spoken within the Trans-Himalayan area, including Indo-Aryan, Tai-Kadai, Austro-Asiatic, and Hmong-Mien languages, as well as isolates, pidgins and creoles.
Abstract submission will be open from October 1st, 2022, with a deadline of March 1st, 2023. The submission address is: hls26paris at gmail.com
Anonymized abstracts should be a page maximum (excluding bibliography) and sent as attached files; please add personal information (name, title, institutional affiliation, contact information) to the body of the email.

Best wishes
Aimée
