braided bread again

The braided bread stuffed with glaceed fruit and called 'Stollen' in German
was called 'houska' in my Czech-American family. Because my grandfather
was a baker's apprentice in Bohemia near the end of the 19th century, I am
confident that that's what it was called back then. I have been told that
the correct name for it now is 'vanocka'. Is this a new name or an example
of dialect variation or what?
Any help very much appreciated.
