I don't understand what I said that could have been shocking.
I originally asserted that "theory of games" and "game theory" were synonyms.
Thomas Paikeday created an example to claim that "theory of games" could
have an additional meaning other than the "received" von Neumann branch of
mathematics. I responded by claiming his example was too contrived to be of
much relevance, and also that "game theory" could also be contrived to have a
different meaning. Either way I was doing nothing more than defending my
original assertion.
