Who's buried in Grant's tomb? (1964); Ich Bin Ein Berliner; Defoliation

I thought the answer to the Grant's Tomb question was Grant, his wife, and
his horse... but the real question is why former president Grant is buried
in Manhattan and not his home state of Ohio!
