I've noticed our local Fox affiliate (ch 5, WNYC) has started to use (maybe
the past year or so?) the familiar "our," i.e. "Our Monica Pellegrini is in
Brooklyn now with the latest."

I've previously only heard this as an English thing, from various British TV
programs and Brits I've know n through the years...

Is this usage on TV news shows a local occurrence? Has it been going on for
a while and I've just started noticing it?
