new website about Pittsburgh speech

[Barbara Johnstone]

Here is a new resource for students and members of the general public
interested in the speech of the Pittsburgh area.  The information on this
website is based on research by Barbara Johnstone, Professor of Linguistics
and Rhetoric at Carnegie Mellon University, and Scott F. Kiesling,
Assistant Professor of Linguistics at the University of Pittsburgh.
Johnstone and Kiesling are sociolinguists who are studying the speech of
the Pittsburgh area. The site was designed by students at Carnegie Mellon
University.
