which reminds me of "25 players, 25 cabs", referring to the various
socially dysfunctional baseball teams, including the Red Sox of the
bad old days...

larry, also dimly recalling something along the lines of "six Jews,
seven opinions"--or rather "n Jews, n + m opinions" for some
forgotten but positive values of n and m
