I'll go anyway. I'm still planning. But it's cold in Florida, too??

Mr. Popik:
Access to the AF Base is restricted to those with a military or contractor
ID. If you do not have an ID, you must be sponsored/escorted. That involves
meeting a sponsor at the guard shack and presenting drivers license, current
vehicle registration and proof of insurance. If you are driving a rental car,
you must show the rental car agreement.
I am not sure if we have enough material for you to warrant a trip to our
library. Our reference librarian located one book on your topic: "Dictionary of
the Modern United States Military" by Tomajczyk, 1996. The Air University
Library at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL is very extensive; it's the largest
military library in the U.S. They have this book and probably more to offer
someone doing research. The Eglin Library is a hybrid undergraduate-public
library. I have included the URLs to both the Eglin Library catalog and to the
Air University catalog. Perhaps this will help you make your decision as to
where you would like to go.

If you decide to visit Eglin, it would be most helpful to have a few days'
advance notice of the day & time, so we can be sure someone will be available
to escort you. We appreciate your interest in our library and hope you find a
way to escape the cold. Unfortunately, we've had several freezing nights
ourselves - this is not what Florida is supposed to be!
Respectfully,

Vicky Stever
