We have a crazy city council in NYC. One reporter has called the members
"councilmanics" and "councilmaniacs." It might stick.

Our whacky Councilmanics, who paid for their essentially uncontested races
with Campaign Finance Board (read: taxpayer) cheddar, now get to elect their
own boss. Whoever they elect will lead the brave fight against the term limits
voters voted for—twice.

_Councilmanics  or Councilmaniacs?_ (http://urbanelephants.com/nyc/node/1547)

Azi at NY Press _(Fifth Estate)_ (http://www.nypress.com/blog/) has been
using _"councilmanics"_
(http://www.nypress.com/18/42/news&columns/azipaybarah.cfm)  and _"councilmaniacs."_
(http://nypress.com/18/43/news&columns/azipaybarah.cfm?in1=y)
This week (pg. 9) he writes about "Our whacky (sic) Councilmanics."
Take your pick of "councilmanic" or "councilmaniac," tell two friends, and
let's give Azi credit.
