Hm, I remember seeing that quoted as "Inter caecos luscus rex", which is
more concise and is idiomatic for Latin... but Google
Groups<http://groups.google.com/group/alt.quotations/browse_thread/thread/f163c5f49de70cba/cbeb9b2abd83bdf6%23cbeb9b2abd83bdf6>does
show these versions instead, with a fairly thorough discussion.

And now that I think about it, my memory probably comes from an sf novel or
novella, which has a one-eyed character who calls himself Luscus Rex ('the
one-eyed king') and refers to the saying in this form. My daughter would be
able to pin down the reference but she's just gone out.
