You never know what you're going to find at the bottom of your desk drawer. In this case, a notation I made in the summer of 1986.
We stopped at the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers, N.Y., and saw an interesting planetarium show. The presenter, probably in her mid-fifties or so, discussed what she insisted on calling the spring and fall "equalnox." Then she mentioned astronomical knowledge in ancient "Metsopotahmia" and the stars "Castor and Polacks."
Seems like yesterday now that I read about it.
