I can't confirm the two 1971 dates, both of which Google gives as
from a pair of volumes.  If the instances are in the second of the
two, their dates might very well agree with Fonda's 1972 trip.  (The
1972 _The Review of the News_ instance, apparently dated July 25,
1972, is consistent with that visit.)

In any case, Lembcke's claim about nonappearance "in the mainstream
press until 1978" looks spurious.
