Beckett

He *reputedly* said it. Which mean that maybe he didn't. Or if he did, maybe
he didn't mean it. Because he was Beckett.

Alternatively, he did say it, but forgot what he'd ben thinking when he was
writing the play.  Or he didn't say it and forgot, and would have said it if
he'd thought of it.

Because he was Beckett.
