Hillary Clinton gave this phrase fifteen minutes of fame back in 2008.
On February 23, 1942, Dennis Flynn Chandler of Oklahoma City was awarded a
copyright for the words and melody of "We're in it to Win it."
The popular Arthur Guy Empey's patriotic play "Pack Up Your Troubles"
(1918) includes the song, "Our Country's in it Now, We've Got to Win it
Now," with lyrics by Empey.
(Also featured are the toe-tapping "Liberty Statue is Looking Right at You"
and "Your Lips are No Man's Land but Mine.")
GB shows the phrase gaining print traction during the 1990s.
