For some reason I have always inserted an /l/ into "Wabash", making it /'wall bash/.  I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, far from the "Walbash" River but my father's office telephone was on the Wabash exchange, so I heard his phone number frequently as "Walbash 2211".

I have an /l/ in both "walk" and "calm".  I also put an /r/ into "wash" and "Washington".
