[Ads-l] Antedating of "Jinx" (Noun and Verb)

Though the character Jinks Hoodoo is a very nice find, that may not
necessarily be the etymon. In other words, the playwright may have obtained
the name from something previous, which, despite the apparent time gap,
could, in my opinion, still be somewhat like what OED offered, with some
yet-undocumented interim appearance.
