Julia and Mie,
Windows 10 has problems with QuickTime. You can download the latest version of QuickTime 7.7.6 that still works on Windows 10 from this Apple's web site: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1822?locale=en_US <https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1822?locale=en_US>
First make sure that you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer and try CLAN or QuickTime player again. The fact that my suggestions of opening your m4v file with QuickTime player have failed and that you have no problems with MOV or MP4 files tells me that m4v file is either corrupted or in format that QuickTime doesn't recognize. You can also try opening m4v file with "Windows Media Player". if "Windows Media Player" can't open m4v file, then it is most likely corrupted. If "Windows Media Player" can open it, but QuickTime player can't, then QuickTime doesn't recognize the m4v file. if the file is not corrupted, then try to convert it to either MOV or MP4 format. if that fails, then the best solution is for you to upload the m4v file to our server for testing.
