Glitch - need help for Windows!

Hello,

*Problem 1*
My students have difficulties with CLAN when they press 'enter' to make a 
new line. 
It obscures the layout and they have to manually fix. 
*What could be happening and how can they fix this? *

*Problem 2*
When the press F4 it skips the first 0.5 seconds of each line. 
*What could be happening and how can they fix this? *
