I have heard and spoken with people of the Karuk, Tolowa and Klamath who
have had experience with Chinook Jargon. I am not an authority but they
seemed to have some words they knew but maybe not fully fluent. Gibbs =
does
talk about meeting a boy and collecting an orthography of Chinook Jargon
while they were on the Upper Klamath? In addition Loren Bommelyn of =
Smith
River, Crescent City area has knowledge of at least parts of the =
language.
But then again he has made his life into a study and preservation of
Tolowa language and culture.=20

themselves, those who have helped to take the land from others, those who
make much money with the labor of people like us, those who mock us in
their estates."=20
